We’re thrilled to share our Summer Stillness Collection 2025 — an intentional addition to the Still Sitting catalogue, inspired by the people and places that surround us. From the forest tones of our new meditation cushion colors to the hand-painted Darumas crafted from 120-year-old Vashon Island beach bricks, many of these items celebrate the quiet beauty of the Pacific Northwest. They also affirm our commitment to growing and collaborating locally with craftspeople and artists within our community.

We don’t release new products often — but when we do, it’s from our desire to offer meaningful, intuitive, and unique meditation products. Our cushions and clothing are made right here in Seattle, including our new Indigo Denim Samue, Nomad Carrying Case, and Tilt Chair Cushion. This collection also includes a curated selection of products from brands that we not only trust, but use ourselves, including tabi socks from Japan and incense sample packs to help you explore scents before committing. New Cushion Colors Inspired by the Pacific Northwest

This summer, we’ve refreshed our entire meditation cushion line with three grounding new colors inspired by the Pacific Northwest: Pine, Thunder Gray, and Walnut Brown. Designed to reflect the forests, skies, and earth of this tranquil region, these hues offer a quiet richness that complements any meditation space.

Tilt Chair Cushion

We are adding one new cushion to our lineup with the Summer Stillness Collection 2025.

Not everyone can — or wants to — sit on a traditional meditation cushion. That’s why we created the Tilt Chair Cushion: a thoughtful, supportive option for practitioners who use a chair. Years in development, its key innovation is subtle but impactful: a carefully calculated slope and balanced foam density that together encourage healthy spinal alignment and upright, relaxed posture. It’s a small shift that makes sitting more accessible, especially for those with mobility challenges, injuries, or age-related limitations.

Equally at home in a meditation hall or office, the Tilt Chair Cushion is also a great ergonomic addition to the workspace of anyone who spends long hours at a computer. Enjoy improved posture and comfort during extended periods at your desk. Sewn from durable 10 oz cotton duck and available in three understated colors (Black, Slate Blue, and Walnut Brown), this cushion blends into your space while subtly improving how you sit. Beach Brick Darumas

These Reclaimed Beach Brick Darumas bring together history, nature, and mindful artistry in a way that feels both whimsical and uplifting. Each piece of brick was once part of the effort to rebuild Seattle after the Great Fire of 1889 — manufactured over 120 years ago at Vashon Island’s historic brickworks, then shaped by decades of waves and weather. Now, local artist Alex Echivarra gives each one new life with a hand-painted Daruma — symbol of perseverance, awakening, and good fortune — along with the kanji for “luck.”

No two Darumas are alike, making each a truly personal object to keep or give. They stand easily on their own and are well-suited for altars, desks, or special spaces in your home. Choose from a single Daruma, a set of three, or five to enjoy the full variety of expressions and natural forms.

Nomad Bench Carrying Bag

One of our most requested new products! Designed specifically for our Nomad Meditation Bench, the Nomad Carrying Case offers a clean, durable way to take your bench wherever your practice leads. Whether you’re off to a retreat, heading to class, or simply storing your bench at home, this custom-fit case keeps things tidy, protected, and ready to move.

Made in Seattle from 100% cotton, each case features a soft shoulder strap that can also be shortened into a sturdy handle for more compact carrying. Available in four muted colors — Black, Natural, Slate Blue, and Burgundy — this case is both functional and quietly elegant.

Simple, sturdy, and thoughtfully made, it complements the Nomad Bench’s minimalist design while making transport seamless.

Indigo Denim Samue

Our Indigo Denim Samue blends the clean lines of traditional Japanese workwear with the durability and comfort of classic denim. Originally worn by monks and nuns during daily practice and temple work, this updated version is made from soft, 8oz pre-washed indigo cotton denim — tough enough for real wear, yet gentle on the skin. Whether you’re sitting zazen, working in the garden, or simply moving through your day, this samue offers ease, freedom, and understated style.

The jacket features a traditional tie closure with a zippered outer pocket, while the pants combine an elastic waistband with a drawstring, zippered fly, and side pockets for added practicality. Compared to our Linen Collection Samue, which is lighter and breathable for warm weather, or our Everyday Samue, which offers a more minimalist look and feel, this denim version brings a workwear-inspired ruggedness that softens with time. Machine washable and made in Seattle, the Indigo Denim Samue is available as a full set or sold separately — jacket or pants. 100% Cotton Rinzai Rakusu and Soto Rakusu

The rakusu is a symbolic version of the Buddha’s robe — worn by ordained clergy and lay practitioners as a quiet expression of commitment. Our 100% Cotton Rakusus follow a traditional, time-honored form, sewn from soft yet sturdy natural cotton. Available in Black or Navy Blue, these rakusus offers durability, comfort, and space for inscribing your Dharma name or lineage.

Still Sitting offers rakusus in five different materials, each crafted for longevity and comfort: Cotton for simplicity and everyday wear, Linen for a light, breathable feel, Silk for softness and elegance, Brocade Silk for ceremonial beauty, and Poly-Cotton for added durability. You may also choose from six rakusu rings, including finely made Artisan Line rings and our Classic Line with traditional hard plastic or locally crafted wood options. Each rakusu is made by hand with care and respect.

Tabi Socks

We’ve worn many styles and brands of tabi socks over the years, and these are by far our favorite! Whether you’re sitting in zazen, walking mindfully on tatami, or taking part in a Buddhist ceremony, our Stretch Tabi Socks offer the perfect blend of comfort and tradition. Made in Japan from soft, flexible nylon, these socks are designed to move with you — supporting your practice while maintaining a clean, respectful appearance.
