Care Instructions

All of our cushions are designed to last you a long time. With a little loving care, they will be with you for many years to come. It is helpful to keep your cushions dry and fluff them occasionally by turning over or onto their side and patting affectionately. You can also put your kapok zafus in the warm sun to help puff them up if they’ve gone a little flat. It is natural for cotton, kapok and buckwheat to settle with frequent use. We find this to be part of the charm of our cushions, as they will change over time depending on the user (you). However, do contact us, if at any time you would like extra fill for buckwheat or kapok zafus. Most of all we hope your cushions enhance your meditation practice and provide a comfortable environment for you to sit as often as you like. To refresh the look of your cushions, we do sell removable covers on their own to fit all of our cushions. These fit both our standard and deluxe cushions.

See below for care instructions for each of our cushion types. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you do not find what you need here.

Standard Cushions (zafus, zabutons, supports, bench cushions)

All of our standard cushions have their fill directly inside the outer cover. They can be happily spot cleaned with a damp sponge. If dusty, they can be brushed with a whisk broom or lint brush.

Deluxe Cushions with Removable Covers (zafus, zabutons, supports, bench cushions)

All of our deluxe cushions have removable, washable covers. The inner cushion is covered in 100% cotton muslin. When it’s time to wash, simply unzip the outer cover and wash on cold either by machine or by hand. You may also dry clean our covers if you prefer. You may tumble dry on cool or hang to dry. All of our fabric is pre-shrunk. Please note, the inner muslin lining can be spot cleaned with a damp sponge but is not intended to be removed.

Samue Clothing

Our samue jackets and pants are all made with pre-shrunk 100% cotton fabrics. We recommend washing in cold water and either line or tumble drying.
