Description
This Temple Bell Wind Chime takes the shape of a traditional Zen bell, a blend of elegant aesthetics and serene sound designed to evoke a sense of tranquility and mindfulness.
The wind chime features a classic form reminiscent of the bells used in Zen Buddhist temples. Hanging from a slender, sturdy cord, the bell sways gently in the breeze, producing a soft, melodic chime. The movement of the wind brings forth a peaceful, lingering sound that invites contemplation and relaxation.
We offer our Temple Bell Wind Chime in two sizes and colors: a smaller Moss Green bell and a larger Black bell. The black bell rings at a slightly lower tone than the moss green, and the two sound wonderful together, their notes mingling as the wind moves through them.
Each Temple Bell Wind Chime comes with a weather-resistant windcatcher, or tanzaku, 9.5″ x 1.75″.

FAQs
What are these wind chimes made of?
Both bells are cast iron, made in Japan, and finished in a durable, weather-resistant coating.
What’s the difference between the Moss Green and Black bells?
The Moss Green is the smaller bell (2.3″ high, 2″ wide). The Black is larger (2.75″ high, 2.25″ wide) and rings at a slightly lower tone. They’re designed to complement each other and sound especially lovely hung together.
What is the tanzaku?
The tanzaku is the flat windcatcher that hangs from the bell’s clapper. As it catches the breeze, it moves the clapper to ring the bell. Ours measures 9.5″ x 1.75″.
Where can I hang my temple bell wind chime?
Anywhere it can catch a breeze: a porch, a covered patio, a garden hook, a tree branch, or a window. Many people place them where they’ll walk past often, so the sound becomes a small, recurring moment of calm throughout the day.
Does the bell need any special care?
Not much. A gentle wipe now and then keeps it looking its best. If you’d like to preserve the finish, hanging it in a spot with some shelter from constant rain will help, though the cast iron is built to withstand the outdoors.
Is this a good gift?
It makes a thoughtful one. The temple bell carries associations of peace and mindfulness, and the calming sound suits housewarmings, meditation spaces, or anyone who enjoys a quiet garden. The two sizes also let you give a matched pair.

Lovely, very happy with it
A beautiful wind chime. Strong build, wonderful resonance. Highly recommended!
I love this little bell! It is of high quality, sturdily made with a clear, bright tone. My son was an exchange student in Japan 23 years ago and when he returned, he brought me one of these bells for my meditation garden. It hung outside for 23 years (I didn’t know I was supposed to bring it inside for the winter😏) until this year, when I found it lying broken on the stone terrace where it had fallen. Obviously, I needed to find another. I went looking online and found one on Still Sitting. To be honest, I bought it because it looked like the best value for the money but I’m really glad I did. The quality is great, the price was amazing, and it was shipped promptly and at my house in only a few days. Thank you, Still Sitting!
