Description

This Ripple Bell windchime is hand-cast in iron by Oigen Foundry, a family-run ironworks that has been operating since 1852 in Mizusawa, Iwate Prefecture — the heart of Japan’s renowned Nambu Tekki (Southern Ironware) tradition. The bell’s distinctive stacked, beehive-like form is wrapped in rippling horizontal bands, a textured pattern known in Japanese as hamon (波紋), meaning “wave pattern.”;

Finished in a deep matte black, the bell has a substantial, sculptural presence and is designed to hang — whether from a porch, window, tree branch, or doorway — where its weight and form let it move gently and chime with the breeze. Each piece carries the weight and quality of generations-old Japanese cast iron craftsmanship.
