Description
Our Incense Sand is clean, fine sand designed to support incense sticks in a bowl. Incense burns evenly while ash falls directly into the vessel below. This simple method has long been used in temples and home practice spaces because it keeps ash contained and helps protect surrounding surfaces.
Offered in convenient 4 oz bags, this product our ceramic incense bowls and other upright incense holders. The texture is fine enough to anchor a stick securely, yet loose enough to allow easy adjustment of placement.
How to Use Incense Sand:
Fill your bowl approximately one-third to one-half full with sand. Insert the incense stick vertically so it stands upright. After repeated use, sift out spent incense stubs with a fork and refresh the sand as needed. This approach keeps the bowl clean and ready for daily use.

I spilled some sand from my incense holder and had to get some more. This sand has just a tiny bit of sparkle and is perfect for my Iron Crystal incense bowl, also from Still Sitting.
I thought this was going to be sand to hold incense sticks but it’s actually perfumed incense crushed up (?)>.
Hi Nataasha,
I’m so sorry you didn’t like our sand. However, whether black sand or desert sand, I assure that it is 100% sand, and as we experience it, perfectly well suited to hold incense. Hope to hear from you again.
