Description
Kuan-Yin (Kannon in Japanese, Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit) is the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion. Here she sits poised and noble on a crescent moon. The moon represents both enlightenment and the feminine. Her clothes, jewelry, and the lotus at her feet are all beautifully and subtly colored. The moon is decorated with the Heart Sutra, the best known and beloved Mahayana Buddhist sutra. In the Heart Sutra Kuan-Yin looks down from on high and gives Shariputra the heart of wisdom teaching.
This statue is made from cold cast bronze.

I think this is a very creatively rendered design! The one place it could be better rendered, is in her facial features. To me, the expression doesn’t quite capture Kannon’s compassion as one might hope. Though to be sure, this is a slight concern, and not even noticeable, unless you look closely. All in all, still a very pleasing purchase!
This is beautifully detailed and I love it. I would definitely recommend to everyone.
I bought this as a gift for Taylor. It looks beautiful in their amazing garden. Delivery was great and fairly timely. We are both well pleased. Janice
