The rakusu is a small version of the kesa, so is an abbreviated representation of the Buddha’s original robe.
The Still Sitting Rinzai Rakusu is a classic black Rinzai rakusu. It is black on the front, with your choice of white or black on the back.
The white backing on the Rinzai Rakusu extends to the edge of the rakusu, unlike our Soto Rakusu, which has a dark border around a white square on the back.
Each is handmade from your choice of four materials: Silk, Linen, Hem or Poly/Cotton Twill. YOu can compare the textures of the different fabrics in the detail.
Each Still Sitting Rakusu is measured, cut, sewn, and stuffed with care in our Vashon Island workshop, as are all of our meditation cushions and robes.
