Soshin Lidunn Cain grew up in Norway watching her mother design clothes and her father design houses.
Her mother had her own shop and clothing line for many years in Trondheim, Norway, and her father was a founding member of the Arkiplan architecture firm.
Lidunn began sewing at age eight, making clothes from old sheets under her mother’s watchful eye. In 1990 she graduated from the Oslo school of Architecture, after which she worked as an architect and began studying Zen Buddhism.
In 1998 she moved to Mt. Baldy Zen Center and was ordained the following year. Lidunn and her husband Christopher moved to Vashon Island in 2002, and founded the Puget Sound Zen Center and Still Sitting Meditation Supply.
They have two lovely children, Lars born in 2001, and Eva in 2004.
