| A Kesa (also known as an Okesa) represents Sakyamuni Buddha’s original robe, and is a ceremonial shawl worn over a koromo.
Our Kesa is sewn together, mostly by hand, from large patches of black material five yards in all and is tied in place with cord and a metal ring.
Each Still Sitting Kesa is measured, cut, sewn, and stuffed with care in our Vashon Island workshop, as are all of our meditation cushions and robes.
We offer two varieties of Kesa.
