Description
Our Large Zen Clappers are beautifully crafted in Thailand from Ceylon Ironwood. They make a nice strong clap and are great for both indoor and outdoor use. Together with the inkin bell, the clappers are used to signal rest and walking periods during meditation. At a Zen monastery they are used in various ways, including to begin and end silent meals and to call everybody to the meditation hall.
PLEASE NOTE: Shape, material and quality of each set of clappers is the same, but color may vary slightly from set pictured.

These are beautiful. They feel stately and dignified in the hands and they have a wonderful hand-made quality with soft discrete ripples and perfect imperfections. Beautifully grained wood. A wonderful addition to our zendo, and a treasure for generations to come.
