| Bodhidharma is the monk credited with bringing Buddhism from India to China, who famously sat in meditation in a cave for 9 years.
In Japan it is said that he threw his drooping eyelids to the ground in frustration at his inability to stay awake. Tea bushes sprang up where the eyelids fell, and the leaves of these new bushes miraculously cured his fatigue.
