Fall 2013
We’re in the midst of an Indian Summer on our island –blue skies, warm weather, and kayaks on the water.  We’ve been keeping ourselves out of trouble by working on some big orders for a couple of Dharma centers and a university, as well as our regular steady stream of orders.   Read More >>

Holiday 2012
Take a walk. Solo. That’s our holiday advice. As grand as it is to see family and friends, we find it so nice to get outside and take a quiet walk this time of year. You might think we’d suggest a healthy dose of sitting meditation, and while that’s no mistake, we also know that a good pair of walking shoes (which we don’t sell…) can carry you deep into quiet meditation. Great for renewing your spirit.   Read More >>

Fall 2012
Our sleepy island is slipping into fall. We've had gorgeous weather for so long we've almost forgotten what rain feels like. Though this being Seattle, we'll know soon enough. Here's a photo from a classic Vashon Island fall event – the annual Sheepdog Trials. 100 dogs and trainers compete to go to the nationals. Our head seamstress Lidunn - lover of dogs, sheep, and all things textile - cannot get enough of it.  Read More >>

Summer 2012
Thanks to you, dear customers, we are having a banner year.  We appreciate the trust you've put in our company, and we promise to keep the same standard of quality and customer care as we grow.  Here's the newest member of the Still Sitting team, Melissa.  She is as careful, conscientious, and cheerful a person as you're likely to meet, and we feel lucky to be working alongside her. Read More >>

We do listen to you, honest.  Many of you asked for more cushion sets, and we've added them:  A Meditation Bench Cushion Set and a Tibetan Seat Cushion Set.  Our mix and match cushion set has become our most popular item – now you can mix and match with an oak bench or Tibetan Seat too.Read More >>

Winter 2012
Greetings from our little island.  Winter finally came to our Pacific Northwest home last month, and after our afternoon meditation the crew had a great snowball fight.  We have kept warm filling orders – we’ve been busier than usual these days.  Thanks for your patronage.Read More >>

Winter 2011
The bustling holiday season is upon us, a time for connecting, giving gifts, sharing food.  While we admit to hoping you’ll give a gift from our catalog this month, we also want to recommend that you give yourself something that doesn’t cost a cent:  A Break.  The lights, the bustle, the social commitments are what makes this time of year special, and we all know it can make this season pretty nuts as well.Read More >>

Fall 2011
This summer Still Sitting’s owners, seamstresses, cushion stuffers, and janitors (i.e. the Cain family) travelled to Norway, where Lidunn was born and raised, and where Koshin leads a Zen retreat every summer.  Read More >>

Summer 2011
There’s been some fierce grumbling up here in the Seattle area.  When Seattlites start complaining about gray skies, you know the weather’s been bad – as in the coldest April on record, and almost the coldest May.  It hasn’t slowed the Still Sitting crew.  Our Spring Sale kept us well occupied, and already now it’s time for our Summer Sale.  It won't last all summer, so don't delay! April 2011
Spring has sprung here on our island home and that means sun-rain-sun-rain, crocuses, the smell of cut grass, and of course our annual Spring Sale. Do check it out. It's only good for the month of April, and we've discounted all sorts of things. Read More >>

December 2010
Times are uncertain these days,  but this you can bank on: We’re still making cushions and robes the old fashioned way here at Still Sitting – with care, an eye toward detail, and right here in the USA. We are still standing proudly behind the products we make and are here to answer your questions about any of them. And at the end of the day we are, well, still sitting. Read More >>
