Still Sitting is a meditation supply company situated on beautiful Vashon Island, Washington, a puddle-jump or two from Seattle. It is owned, operated, labored over, and loved, by Koshin Christopher Cain and Soshin Lidunn Cain. We began Still Sitting five years ago in order to provide something we know well – meditation supplies – to those who need them, as well as a way to provide for our family while establishing the Puget Sound Zen Center.

Koshin and Soshin are a Buddhist monk and nun in the Rinzai Zen tradition. Christopher lived for twelve years at Mt. Baldy Zen Center in California, and served for the last three years there as vice abbot. Lidunn worked as an architect in Oslo, Norway, before moving to Mt. Baldy Zen Center in 1998. They have atwo young children, Lars and Eva.

The two of them sew, stuff, clean, and ship out every mediation cushion in their Vashon workshop. Every robe is cut to size and tailored right there. One of the two of them checks every seam before it ships to you. They are exacting about their work.
